Government PRETENDING We Have No Cash to Spend

On TNT Radio with Rick Munn, we discussed Rishi's lavish spending during the pandemic, and how that affects us now. I argue that Rishi was right to spend money on schemes like furlough, but he's wrong to act as if we need to pay it all back tomorrow. We also have an extra £50 billion to spend that we're currently paying from our left pocket to our right pocket. Hence, the government is just pretending we have no cash to spend: if we stopped rushing to pay back covid debt, and used the extra £50bn available to us, we could do a lot more. I'd spend our extra cash on raising the personal allowance to £20k. What would you spend it on?
