Detroit man set to be deported escapes ICE custody at New York airport

A Detroit man who was set to be deported on Tuesday night escaped custody at New York's JFK International Airport. According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 31-year-old Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke from Senegal. ICE agents say he flew from metro Detroit to JFK and was expected to be deported to Senegal when he got out of custody. Surveillance video shows Mbacke got into a taxi around 9 p.m. and departed the airport. He is described as a black male, 6-feet-3 and about 190 pounds.
