The present conflict over Gaza is veering towards a deeper U.S. involvement, based on a strategy of Henry Kissinger called the "Breakaway Ally Scenario". Advanced later as part of the Wolfowitz Doctrine, it is part of a devious strategy to defend the interests of the Military Industrial Complex against revolt by sovereign states, by using client states such as Israel, to trigger larger wars.
