Col. @DougAMacgregor on Israel: “why would you attack the sovereign territory (which is what an embassy is) of Iran? You want Iran to attack you so that you could precipitate a war that will involve the US against Iran on your side.”

In my view, Iran has already decided that it can no longer afford not to respond bc Tehran has recognized that Israel will continue to attack it anyway until Iran retaliates. This is now a question of when, not if.
