Here, we learn about the birth of Ishmael and how Abram and Sarai doubted the promises from God and while God did bless Ishmael, there were consequences for the generations to come as a result of disobedience and sin. Abram is the center point here along with Sarai and Hagar and this chapter illustrates that God does not leave his children when they disobey and flee from him.
