Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis spoke out against a provision snuck in the state budget that would make it an E Felony for a local law enforcement official to provide information from the State DMV Database to a federal law enforcement partner. The language also prohibits Customs & Border Protection’s access to scan plates, do routine traffic stops, initiate investigations into drug and human trafficking among other things.
