March is Women's History Month, which is really the expansion of International Women's Day, an event which dates back to the early 1900's when women began organizing for the right to vote. Recognizing the potential electoral power, socialists began to organize this energy. Ever since, Socialists and the political left have been seen as the purveyors and protectors of women's rights.
