1 Push others away:
• Remove the source of pain: others.
• Need for control.
• Onslaught of incursion on personal boundaries from others.
• Signals a need for mindfulness.

2 Pull away from others:
• Avoid triggers.
• No problem with a hot iron; just don't to touch it.
• Represents a protective measure to prevent further hurt.
• Signals a need for understanding.

3 Apologetic:
• View self as the source of the pain.
• Guilt, fear of criticism, and self-doubt.
• Begging for acceptance
• Signals a lack of self-confidence.

4 People-Pleasing:
• Attempt to undermine or avoid rejection.
• Stemming from past experiences of disrespect.
• Expecting reciprocation.
• Singals a need for respect in the face of rejection

5 Vigilant to a fault:
• State of full alert.
• Seeing a lion behind ever bush
• Result of perpetual, real life abuse
• Stress hormone called cortisol

Anxiety.
Depression.
Digestive problems.
Headaches.
Muscle tension and pain.
Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke.
Sleep problems.
Weight gain.
Problems with memory and focus.
