Granite Staters will have the opportunity to experience an extremely rare event when the path of a total solar eclipse crosses through the northern part of the state on April 8.

Here is everything you need to know to get ready for the total solar eclipse.

In New Hampshire, only the far northern part of the state will be in the path of totality, including the communities of Pittsburg, Errol, Colebrook, Stewartstown and Lancaster.

Areas south of the path of totality will see a partial eclipse, meaning there will be a small sliver of the sun still visible, and the sky won't go dark. Many people are going to travel to the area of totality, but the partial eclipse will still be a sight to see, too, with the proper eyewear.
