(10/27/19) Malliotakis, Families Slam de Blasio as 7th Anniversary of Hurricane Sandy Approaches

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I Ref-Brooklyn, Staten Island) and a dozen families that are still navigating the bureaucracy of the Build it Back program held a press conference on Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. to speak out on their continued struggle to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy.

​The Build it Back program is an initiative aimed at enhancing the resiliency of waterfront neighborhoods through repair, rebuilding and the elevation of homes. Despite the goals of the program, these families are still navigating the red tape of Build it Back seven years after Hurricane Sandy devastated Staten Island and three years after Mayor Bill de Blasio promised reconstruction would be completed.
