On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh, an ex-Army soldier and security guard, parked a rented Ryder truck in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City.0 Inside the vehicle was a massive homemade bomb made of more than two tonnes of ammonium nitrate fertilizer, diesel fuel, and other chemicals.
