Julie Mitchell, Co-Administrator of Container Royal, which tracks tonnage on container ships in Baltimore port, said ship was suffering from "total power failure/loss of engine power” at port.
She was aired live Wednesday on CNN:
The reefer boxes….one of which is the refrigerated boxes, were actually tripping the breakers that were keeping the generators running while they were trying to fix the ship.
They weren't even holding that— they were tripping breakers on that. They had a severe electrical problem.
They shouldn't have let the ship leave port until they got it on under control.
Today on CNN’s website:
CORRECTION: An earlier version of story contained an interview w/ a port worker describing electrical issues on the ship. Since post was published, the subject of interview has informed our affiliate that she can’t stand by her comments. Her quotes have been removed.

About the photo:
The owner and manager of the Dali cargo ship that crashed into Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge and killed six people filed a court petition seeking to limit their legal liability for the catastrophe.
The companies filed a 'limitation of liability' petition on Monday denying any fault or neglect and seeks to cap their liability at roughly $43.6 million - which they claim is the ships total value after losses and damages.
