Egypt may hog much of the limelight when it comes to ancient civilisations, but it too was influenced by a powerful sub-Saharan dynasty.

The Kush Kingdom also build pyramids and developed its own form of written texts. And its rich history helped shaped a regional landscape that can still be admired today.
