There existed a schism in Freemasonry at the time of the United State's founding. George Washington adhered to a form of Freemasonry devout to God. Benjamin Franklin, on the other hand, advocated for human enlightenment free from God, a teaching of the Bavarian Illuminati.
For millennia, the evil powers of the air have striven with God to usher humanity into a New Age of enlightenment and freedom from God. They have already been defeated by Jesus Christ.
