Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of my beloved mother-in-law, Angela. She was only 72 years old.Yesterday, March 31st, 2024, at 7 pm, she peacefully left us in the ICU at Mount Sinai hospital. Angela's journey was marked with strength, grace, and an unyielding love that touched all who knew her.

While the exact diagnosis remains uncertain, the doctors suspected ALS, though she wasn't officially diagnosed at an ALS center. We believe her struggles may have been exacerbated by complications following her COVID-19 vaccination. Just two weeks after receiving it, she began experiencing discomfort and loss of movement in her arm and hand, which eventually spread. It's a departure from the typical progression of ALS, leaving us with questions and a sense of injustice.

Despite these challenges, Angela remained resilient. She lived long enough to witness her granddaughter's wedding, a moment of joy and light amidst the darkness. For the past 24 years, she found solace and companionship in our home, where she lived with my wife Toula, her devoted daughter. Angela's fears of growing old alone were alleviated by our love and care, and she became an integral part of our family.

Angela had a zest for life that was unmatched. Her love for coffee and cigarettes was only rivaled by her affection for our two dogs, Flex and Koukla. They already miss her presence, as do we all. She nurtured them, fed them, and showered them with love every day.

Toula is grappling with the loss of her mother, her confidante, and her best friend. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared countless cherished moments together. Angela's absence leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

As we navigate this difficult time, let us remember Angela for the vibrant, loving soul she was. Let her memory be a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. And may we find solace in the love and support of one another as we honor her legacy.

Rest in peace, dear Angela. You will forever be in our hearts.

With love,
Chris, Toula, and family
