I do believe God does intervein on our behalf we no longer need prophets as Jesus is our only teacher now.

Deuteronomy 18:20

- But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Ephesians 2:20-22

Cessationism

Cessationism versus continuationism is a Christian theological dispute concerned with the question whether the charismatic gifts remain available to the church, or whether their operation ceased with the apostolic age of the church, or soon thereafter.

The cessationist doctrine arose in the Protestant Reformation, initially in response to claims of Roman Catholic miracles.

1 John Chapter 4

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Matthew 10:40-41

40 He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.

41 Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination.
But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.

15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites.
You must listen to him.

18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth.

He will tell them everything I command him.

19 I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.

20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded,
or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?”

22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true,
that is a message the Lord has not spoken.
That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

Acts 2

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1 Corinthians 14:27

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

But if there is no interpreter, he should remain silent in the church and speak only to himself and God.

What Is the Deeper Meaning of Pentecost?

The deeper meaning of Pentecost is that it marks the day when the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was done across believers in the early church. It was the day when believers first began being indwelled by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4:16-17

16 “What shall we do with these men?” they asked.

“ It is clear to everyone living in Jerusalem that a remarkable miracle has occurred through them, and we cannot deny it.

17 But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.”

Matthew 12 17-41

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant,
whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:
because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
