Ontario police officers were dispatched to a traffic collision in the 1200 block of E. Airport Drive. Witnesses reported the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before losing control and colliding into the wash. The vehicle then caught fire, with the driver trapped inside. Without hesitation, our officers placed themselves in this dangerous situation to help ensure the safety of the driver and witnesses.
Our officers utilized several fire extinguishers from their police units to keep the fire under control until the fire department arrived on scene and extricated the driver. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence.
