The play-by-play of the game is announced by longtime Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers baseball broadcaster Vin Scully who himself called four perfect games in his career and Steve Lyons. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office disappointment grossing $46.1 million against a $50 million production budget. Costner received a nomination for the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor.
