Battle of Okinawa - Battlestations: Pacific

The Battle of Okinawa marked the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific Theater and was the final major battle before the planned invasion of Japan. In the naval operations surrounding the battle, both sides lost considerable numbers of ships and aircraft, including the Japanese battleship Yamato.
