Nova espécie de mamífero é descoberta por cientistas no Peru. O “pudella carlae” ou pudu da selva peruana. É uma espécie de cervo. Pesquisadores descobriram o pudu, um pequeno cervo de pele escura que habita grandes territórios da Argentina à Colômbia. Até onde se sabia, existiam duas espécies com este nome: o Pudu puda, que habita as florestas da fronteira sul entre Argentina e Chile, e o Pudu mephistophiles, também conhecido como pudu pequeno ou do norte, considerado a menor espécie de veado do planeta. Eles têm duas diferenças: A primeira é a sua composição corporal. A Pudella carlae é maior, seu pelo é mais escuro e o formato das orelhas não é semelhante. E a segunda diferença é genética.
