Surah Al-Hajj, named after the rites of Hajj, is unique as it is the only Surah named after one of the Pillars of Islam. The main theme of the Surah revolves around Taqwa (fear of Allah and duty towards Him), Tawheed (Islamic monotheism), the Hour and its terrors, and preparation for it, as well as the rites of Hajj.

One of the five pillars of Islam central to Muslim belief, Hajj is the pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must make at least once in their lifetime if they are able; it is the most spiritual event that a Muslim experiences, observing rituals in the most sacred places in the Islamic world.
