It's been almost two decades since the final game at Tiger Stadium in Corktown, but this weekend will see the first game with the opening of the Detroit Police Athletic League stadium dubbed the Detroit PAL Corner. There are two days of events leading up to Saturday's ribbon-cutting ceremony. Everything at the site is new and it's all for Detroit kids. On Friday morning, they'll hold a breakfast. The state-of-the-art stadium will give kids from Detroit the opportunity to play baseball on a historic field. The Detroit PAL offers 11 different athletic programs helping more than 13,000 boys and girls every year.
