Cell Conditioning

Here is a on the spot conditioning process. I use one of the premixed cupcake cells, with carbon and magnesium electrode mixed with PEG powder with just enough water to make a wet paste. I place the electrodes and let dry overnight.

With the cell as is they produce around 1 volts to start. I put the oven on at low "Warm" for about 15 minutes until the mix melts into a translucent wax like. Too long will make it liquid ( better but more difficult to keep electrodes in place) So it's all about trial and error in finding the right balance for your molding method. Once that is complete, We put the cell in the freezer, While driving it with a high voltage module ( I found it works better) Let it cool down make sure it don't spark or short out while conditioning and carefully close the door as much as you can.

After 15 mins or so remove the power and open the freezer door and remove the cell. Test the cell. I did this on the spot and got very lucky with this one generating over 2 volts. For what it is, It was a pleasant surprise! I think you hear it in my voice when I read out the voltage lol!

So far I noticed anywhere from 25-40 % increase in potentials with the addition of the condition process. Yes it does tend to dip a little under a meter as a load as observed in the video, But does this "bounce" back effect. Esp if disconnected for a few seconds.
