New York Mayor Eric Adams to roll out "electromagnetic weapon detection systems" in New York subway stations.

The Evolv gun scanners are reportedly portable and easy to install and relocate. Many hospitals already use them.

It'll take some time before New Yorkers see gun scanners in the transit system. By law, the city has to post information on the new technology and then test it. Adams says there's a required 90-day waiting period. No facial recognition or biometrics will be used in concert with the scanning system, the mayor said.

They say no biomterics or facial recognition will be used but it's definitely coming because that is exactly what they want: More control, more surveillance and less ways for citizens to protect themselves.
