Storm Shield Forecast morning update 3/22/18
Though we've had a brief break overnight as the feed of tropical moisture lifted north, we are taking another direct hit today. The rain returns this morning with winds picking up as well. There is steady rain over most of the county today, with periods of moderate to heavy rain pushing in at times through this evening. Though rain totals won't be as high as yesterday, it's still a soaker that leaves us with a threat of street flooding in the valley and potential flash flooding in the mountains. The higher elevations could still see the chance of rock slides and mudslides today as well. There is also a chance of thunderstorms across the county, which could produce downpours, small hail, localized winds and possibly some funnel clouds or perhaps even weak tornados but mainly for the valley north of the Kern County line.
