The series Secrets of the Secret Service takes a look at the secret service and the latest technologies they are using to keep America safe. The viewer will get to see how these devices work. They will also get information about what this organization is doing to fight terror and those that are a threat to the American people.

Secrets Of The Secret Service is an exhaustive investigation into America's most mysterious law enforcement agency, detailing the weapons and tactics they use to protect the President of the United States.

Many of the service's current methods and technology have been introduced as a result of tragedy. The assassination of President John F Kennedy laid bare a catalogue of errors which left him vulnerable.

One of the major innovations to arise from that fateful day in Dallas was the redesign of the presidential limousine -- which is more like a tank than a car, sporting bullet-proof windows, tear gas cannons and significant armour plating.

One of the things to come from it was a change in the weaponry used. Agents now carry FNP90 submachine guns, with body armour piercing rounds. These allow an assailant to be taken out with pinpoint accuracy, without danger to the inevitable large crowds surrounding the President.

Including interviews with ex-agents and a former White House press secretary, Secrets Of The Secret Service examines everything from the service's training techniques to the protocols used when the President is aboard Air Force 1.
