Over 260 residents and physicians at the Western Michigan University

AFT Michigan says 93-percent of the vote was in favor and they have certified the union, which will be known as the Resident & Fellow Alliance, or RFA. The interim dean of the medical school says they are aware of the vote and says it needs to be certified by the national labor relations board. Resident physician Jamil Khondker says the union "will give us a voice in the workplace, the ability to negotiate for fair contracts and working conditions, and protection from exploitation."
