Rescue workers in Baltimore are working furiously in an attempt to save the lives of dozens of people who were plunged into the freezing waters of the Patapsco River when the Francis Scott Key bridge snapped and collapsed after being hit by a container ship. Video shows the astonishing moment when the bridge collapsed after the collision. Initial reports indicate that at least a dozen cars fell into the water including just as many construction workers who were working on the bridge at the time. Coast Guard search and rescue vessels were surrounding the ship early on Tuesday. Maryland State Police AW-139 helicopters were also deployed to assist in rescue operation.
