A man leads protesters in a pledge to not vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at a pro-Palestine rally held earlier this month in Detroit.

The demonstration came shortly after a large number of voters in Michigan’s Democratic presidential primary chose ‘Uncommitted’ instead of Biden, with many voicing frustration over the Biden Administration’s continued support for Israel and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Over 100,000 cast a vote for ‘Uncommitted’ in the Michigan Democratic primary, numbers large enough to win two delegates to this summer’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago. While still carrying the state overall, Biden lost to the ‘Uncommitted’ option in Dearborn and Hamtramck, both cities with large Arab American populations.

The demonstration comes amidst continued opposition to Biden from pro-Palestine activists, who have protested his appearances at various cities around the U.S. in recent months, including a February trip to the southeast Michigan city of Warren.
