Republicans are offering a very stupid plan to raise the Social Security retirement age (again!) from 67 to 69. It's a losing plan that will do nothing to fix the problem even if it does pass.Show more

The Democrats' solution, apparently, is to just do nothing and ignore the impending insolvency that the Social Security Trustees warned about.

Unfortunately, the REAL solution--means testing--apparently will never be considered. Because this is NOT about being a safety net for poor seniors; it's about being a boondoggle for rich ones.
