Russia mine with 13 trapped miners likely 'flooded'

The Pioneer gold mine in Russia's Amur region, where 13 miners have been trapped, is likely flooded, the Russian Emergency ministry said on Monday (March 25). "The camera has shown water 153 meters down the drilled well," deputy emergency minister Anatoly Suprunovskiy said. "The mine may be flooded up to the level of works being carried out", he said.
