Simo Häyhä, “The White Death,” was a Finnish sniper with over 500 confirmed kills in the Winter War.
He used the M/28-30 rifle and Suomi KP/-31 submachine gun with exceptional skill and stealth.
Häyhä was severely wounded in battle but survived, becoming a war hero.
His memoir, ‘Sotamuistoja,’ offers a personal view of his experiences.
Häyhä’s legacy as a symbol of resilience and skill lives on beyond his death in 2002.
