A new study by the Environmental Working found the chemical Chlormequat in 4 out of 5 people tested.

Chlormequat is linked to:
⚠️ Reduced fertility
⚠️ Harm to the reproductive system
⚠️ Altered fetal growth

Chlormequat is sprayed on some conventional oats and grains to make it easier to harvest. And now it’s ending up in our food!

They have found Chlormequat in ALMOST ALL popular oat-based products, cereals and granola that they tested, including:

Cheerios
Honey Nut Cheerios
Frosted Cheerios
Quaker Oats
Great Value Oats & Honey Granola
Quaker Simply Granola
Quaker Oatmeal Squares
Quaker Instant Oatmeal (flavored)
Quaker Chewy Bars
Good & Gather Granola
Cheerios Oat Crunch

The chemical was mostly found in non-organic products.
The best way to avoid Chlormequat in your food is to choose products with organic oats and organic grains. Look for the Certified Organic seal on the product.
