Appearing on MSNBC’s The Beat today to discuss the latest developments in the Stormy scandal — notably, Trump attorney Michael Cohen accusing Daniels of violating the hush agreement and filing for $20 million in damages — Avenetti was asked by host Ari Melber to respond to criticism that his client’s story was “tabloid fodder.”

“Your response, Michael?” Melber pressed the attorney after playing a Fox News clip dismissing coverage of Daniels.

“Well, Ari, I’ve been invited to give interviews to literally hundreds of media outlets around the world, what is shocking to me is, I haven’t received a single request, not one, from Fox News,” Avenatti said. “They’ve reached out to me for copies of documents and things of that nature, and we’ve cooperated with them. But I’ve not received a single interview request from Fox News.”

A stunned Melber wanted to know if he was saying “there’s not a single anchor on Fox News that wants to go toe to toe with you,” wondering aloud if Avenatti believes “they’re afraid of this story.”
