Hunger is a powerful signal. It can fool our brain into thinking we need more of a thing than we do and confuse the sensation of hunger as a biological imperative for nutrition as opposed to a socially reinforced indulgence.

One way I implement to distinguish between the 2 is by immediately after eating just brushing and gargling with mouthwash.

Eliminate the taste, eliminate the signal. If your meals are adequately nourishing, you should find that “hunger,” that craving for more just kind of dissipates.

After a while, having established this as a habit, you’ll be able to distinguish the difference between being actually hungry, as in you didn’t eat enough for your health or performance goals versus you just want more of that tasty treat.
