Carlee Russel: Abduction or Farse?

Have you ever watched a film like The Big Lebowski or Gone Girl and wondered, “Has anyone ever ACTUALLY tried to kidnap themselves?” The resounding answer is… maybe. In a bizarre 911 call a young woman, Carlee Russel, spots a toddler wandering alone along on the interstate. However, when police arrive there is no sign of Russel or the child. Only a few days later Russel returns home unharmed. Was she abducted? If so, where are her abductors and the child she saw? If not, was the supposed “child” a ruse to throw off the police?
