Eighth grade student wins Oakland Schools Scripps Regional Spelling Bee

An eighth grade student at Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy in Pontiac is the winner of the first Oakland Schools Scripps Regional Spelling Bee. Rahul Reddy correctly spelled "notabilia," which means "things worthy of note." Annabella Evangelist, a seventh grader at Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington was the runner up. 79 students in grades fifth through eighth from across Oakland County competed against one another Sunday afternoon in Waterford Township.
