Gas prices in metro Detroit see large increase this week

Drivers across metro Detroit will pay more at the pump once again as the average gas price in the area has risen for another week. According to GasBuddy, prices in metro Detroit are 7.8 cents per gallon higher in the past week, now at an average of $2.63 per gallon. The national average rose 2.5 cents per gallon to $2.54, meaning Detroit is well above the national average. Compared to this time last year, prices in metro Detroit are 41.1 cents higher and also 14.6 cents higher than a month ago.
