Netanyahu’s smack talk to the US makes you wonder who is in charge.

Failure to make sure aid gets in, failure to reason with Netanyahu in any meaningful way, Genocide Joe Biden is weak as sin.
Right, so nothing quite says being in charge like Benjamin Netanyahu telling the US to go and do one as they beg and plead with the madman, with a nation that for three generations has been shielded from critique, from not going into a city where over a million people are crammed together and, well, doing something none of us really want to contemplate, but is still likely to go ahead and do it, because still there’s no will to stop them.
Yesterday the US tried to con other countries into believing they were asking for a ceasefire, when still, it was all around Hamas having to release hostages first, something Russia and China vetoed for the transparently pathetic non ceasefire call that it was and Guyana abstained having given the US short shrift for it too. But evidently Netanyahu thinks he has nothing to fear from telling the likes of Biden and Blinken he’ll go into Rafah without them if needs be, it’s one city, it’s not a big city, it wouldn’t need that much in the way of ordinance to cause mass death and destruction, so perhaps we’re at the point where Israel doesn’t think it needs the US anymore, or is Netanyahu that desperate to hold onto power he will literally do or say anything to appease his coalition partners on the far right. Either way, as Biden and Blinken wring their hands over it, it just looks like the worlds greatest superpower, and the most powerful man on Earth is just Israel’s b*tch for not saying no and not moving heaven and Earth to protect the people of Rafah against a madman and his insane regime.
Right, so Benjamin Netanyahu has told Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State that he hopes the US will help him in Rafah, because he’s going in whether the US like it or not, because that’s the last holdout of Hamas, even though it is also the last holdout of most of the people of Gaza. I’m minded to think about the attacks on Al-Shifa hospital in the north of the Gaza strip that we’ve seen this week, the slaughter of people trying to flee, doctors and medical staff and patients, too, because Hamas were allegedly still there as well, so if their last holdout is in Rafah, why was that hospital targeted for the fourth time? Hamas is being used as an excuse to raze Gaza to the ground north to south, the devastation is virtually absolute and the but Hamas excuse just won’t wash anymore. What Israel has done in response to October 7th is so overwhelmingly disproportionate anyone going ‘but Hamas’ at this point is off their rocker.
But given that the US supplies some 68% of all the arms Israel is using, imagine if Biden and Blinken actually found their collective spines and cut them off? Would that cause Israel some problems? Certainly if the US did that, other suppliers likely would too. Here in the UK I daresay, Sunak and Co would jump immediately to the same tune, potentially Australia, France, maybe even Germany would follow suit, such is the power of the leader of the free world, unfortunately the leader of the free world has never done anything to indicate this has ever even crossed his mind.
