Theme: The enemy of our souls is a deceiver. His mouth pieces are the false prophets in this world. Only by fully imbibing the Word of God can we defend our minds against the lies of false prophets.

13th In our series the Prophet Micah

I The Father of Lies - John 8:44
* A. He reveals his nature and his essence in endless lies
* B. His followers having rejected the truth will be given “a strong delusion” - 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12
* 1. The One World Leader will be a consummate liar
* 2. Those who reject the truth of the gospel will be caught in this web of lies encompassing the whole world

II. The False Prophets - Micah 2:11
* A. The begin their career of lies by walking in Satan’s path
* 1. Their whole manner of life is rooted in lies
* a. It bubbles forth from a heart that is not right with God - they are following the fallen spirits
* b. It misleads all who are not grounded in the Word of God
* 2. The gullible are draw in because they don’t want to hear the truth, it is too uncomfortable
* B. False prophets apply those lies they believe in all that they proclaim
* 1. Their lies do not remain within their hearts
* 2. They speak ideas that are like intoxicating drink
* C. Christ followers are called to test the spirits - 1 John 4:1
* 1. We are to subject all truth claims to the acid test of the Word of God - Romans 12:1-2
* a. Spoken of testing metals to determine the genuine nature of the metal - 1 Peter 1:7
* b. We are commanded to test all things - 1 Thessalonians 5:21
* 2. We reject the lies that the purpose of this life is to indulge in pleasures of the body
* 3. The false prophets will be very popular - 2 Timothy 4:3
