Post Office Lawyer 'feels the hurt and pain' caused to subpostmasters

Post Office Lawyer Jarnail Singh tells the Post Office Inquiry that he 'feels the hurt and pain' caused to subpostmasters by their private prosecutions by the Post Office which he admits were miscarriages of justice.

He discusses the separation of the Post Office from the Royal Mail in April 2012 and how the Post Office Criminal Law Team reduced the number of senior lawyers from 8 to 1 whilst contracting out much of the prosecution work to legal firm Cartwright King.

He says the loss of support staff meant that he felt he couldn't do the job that he was supposed to and identified examples of difficulty he faced in the new restructured Post Office Criminal Law Team
