Post-Conditioning Pressing

I again began with Incline Dumbbell Press. This week, I dropped the load to accommodate an achy elbow. To add a novel stimulus in order to compensate for the reduction in loading, I adjusted the bench to be at more of a higher 40-45 Degree pressing angle. I increased the volume as well back to the 10-12 rep range.

Next, I did this nifty Hoist, “ROC-IT” Machine Press. Since I had to reduce the load on dumbbells, and the force curve of this machine really agrees with my shoulders, I went heavier on this machine, pressing in the 5-7 rep range and cultivating the stretch position.

Lastly, I finished this pressing session with some Wide-Grip “Louie’s” or Barbell Pushups. Since I did incline dumbbells, a flat to slight incline machine press, these were done at the bottom of a power rack making them a slight decline pressing angle. These began at 0-1 RIR and the last few sets were to complete failure.
