Since these carvings involve many steps, I thought I’d share my process with you in case anyone wants to dip their toes into the #woodcarving fun!

I’m so new to this, in this life, so my process may be a little different (or a LOT) than others… This is what is working for me and definitely will change over time.

I start with sanding down the outside layers. I use a battery powered Dremel.

I the Connect with the 🪵 wood/trees on a deep spiritual level. The trees hold the codes for all tree systems but specifically, stronger where they are physically located; they hold the lineages within their molecular structures. I’ve found when I connect with the branches something magical happens during my creative process….

The time story comes alive in the etchings and carvings, paradolia (visions) takes over and I not only see the storylines these trees and their ancestors have lived thru and bore witness to, but so much more of humanity’s story right along side of it; and it all becomes apparent in the spirits that seem to appear on these branches… sometimes, it’s as if the branch is showing me where to cut, carve, paint, oil, burn etc.

Like I said, there’s a lot that goes into this process and is not a craft for anyone looking to snag a side hustle in or for monetary purposes.

Believe me, I get it.

But if that’s why you begin this journey you may as well pack it in now…. I’ve found that taking this journey for the love of it, is the only way to go, for me.

After connecting, the tree (or Spirit of the tree, rather) actually leads the way. But basically, next is the major cuts and that when I’m figuring out the handles and major markings. Then there’s the minor carvings and wood burning, where even more of the trees inner spirits come alive and come out to play (and wave 👋 to see if I saw them… ‘just checking’, they say;)

I frequently see animals people and birds, angels and more… like sacred geometry, patterns, glyphs, pyramids and ancient codes. I let my Spirit take over when get into this part, so the piece can probably reflect what it wants to share.

I use Cardamon, Cedawood and Clovebud to oil the major points and the pieces generally love that. I would (haha) use more but just ran out during this last batch. I use DoTerra and love their quality; so I’ll have to order more some day soon 👍

Then after soaking up these fabulously smelling and enchanting oils, I encode Soul level frequency codes for the intention of each piece. It happens naturally so I’m not sitting there with a step by step check off list or anything lol.
I trust flow as I go…
Acrylic painting with earth tones and metals like gold, cooper and metallic in nature, helps give a natural shine when the Sun ☀️ hits it just so…
Oh I almost forgot: I also use a golden sharpie before carving, even major cuts. It turns into a great color after burning you just can get any other way 🤔🤷‍♀️

Then we move on to the copper foil and burnishing phase where, when it’s done right, looks like the inside is liquid gold!! Something to see in person because pictures just don’t do it right!!

Regular glue with a clear dry finish to go over all copper foil so it stays in place and isn’t edgy or snaggy, it’s then time for the wire wrapping phase, I may decide to do the stone I inlay first; then the wire wrapping after. That seems to make the most sense now.
