How we ditched most paper products in the kitchen

Sharing how we've gotten away from most paper products the kitchen. Not only do the costs add up, so many paper products may have bleach or other toxic chemical residue.

So... we use cloth instead of paper products. Dishcloths... dish towels... napkins. I make our napkins out of linen. Our dish towels and our dishcloths are 100% cotton.

I buy the towels. These are just from Fred Meyer, actually. I make the dishcloths out of cotton yarn.

The napkins: I buy linen fabric by the yard. Then I cut the fabric into ~15" squares. And then I do a rolled hem on the serger. We keep a basket full of these.

I have enough towels, napkins, dishcloths to last a week so I only have to launder them once a week. They're pretty and fun. And durable. They last years and years and years.

Maybe eight years ago or so I made more napkins. and we're still using the same batch. They've faded, but they're still going strong.

Tis is way less expensive than roll after roll after roll of paper towels, or paper napkins. So it's economical, plus it's non-toxic.

Although I'm a fan of many modern tools (I love a good appliance!), in some ways, like this, we've gone "backward".

Just like we've gone backward with our food... to Eat God's Way.

In case you didn't know, Eat God's Way recipes and methods use high-quality, simple whole foods along with cooking methods from Bible Times that save you money and time, while providing nutritious, digestible, and delicious meals and snacks for your family.

If you or anyone you know would like to learn more about cooking this way, I share more in my free Eat God's Way book... plus I give you simple and easy sample recipes in the companion cookbook. Both books are FREE.

BTW Eat God's Way is NOT rule-based. We eat this way to give God glory and honor His design for our nourishment. And in return, He fills us with peace, joy, and love... if we let Him!

God bless you! 🥰
