📜 About the Speaker:
Mawlāna Khalid Herrington converted to Islām in 1995 and completed his formal studies in 2012 after six years at the Institute of Islamic Education located in Elgin, IL. He has been a student at Darul Qasim since 2009 under the guidance of Sh. Amin Kholwadia. Mawlāna Khalid has over 15 years of experience in teaching and providing religious advisement to adults and youth. He has received the formal qualifications to teach ‘aqidah (theology/theosophy), fiqh (jurisprudence), tafsīr (exegesis of the Qur’an), ḥadīth (prophetic tradition), uṣūl (underlying principles), and Classical Arabic (grammar and morphology). He has served as Imam and Resident Scholar in a number of communities, most recently at Masjid Al-Huda, Schaumburg in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago from 2019 to 2021. One of his specialties is helping convert Muslims integrate in to the existing Muslim community with all of its cultural variances.
