France Votes No To the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Between Canada and the EU

France's Senate voted 44 for and 211 against the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). CETA would reduce customs duties, reduce regulations hindering trade, gradually remove protectionist measures, and create a tribunal for European countries investing in Canada to promote investment.
This comes amid the ongoing farmer protests in Europe.
CETA is one part of a larger bill, which will also be voted on today. Most likely CETA will head back to France's National Assembly (lower parliament), where if they reject it it could spell the end of the bill.
