The official video for High Castle Teleokrestra's "At Last He Will" from their debut album "The Egg That Never Opened," (presented by Art As Catharsis and available on Bandcamp or on their website as download, 2CD, 2LP). Mined from the riches of early 20th century European "plays with music," this radical take on a Kurt Weill song is a triumph of both arrangement and production and highlights the narrative of chapter 5 of Phillip K. Dick's book "Radio Free Albemuth." Whereas the original Weill version was written for piano and voice, this version has a full rock ensemble augmented by accordion, flute, clarinet tenor sax, violin, a rhythm section running the gamut from jazz and surf to metal, and includes a mysterious Oracular vocal by Caitlin O'Connor.

HCT's rendition includes violin, accordion, drums, multiple basses, a variety of jazz, surf and metal guitars, the ethereal female oracle vocals, and a delicate trio of flute, clarinet and tenor sax. As usual, Stian Carstensen adds a rip-the-roof-off-the-place accordion solo. We stripped away the lyrics and used the chords and melody as the skeleton of a pretty radical new orchestration featuring a wild array of instruments and time signature changes.
