Grant Me Hope: Rachel likes arts and crafts, reading, board games, and Girl Scouts
If you’re an animal lover, you’ll have something in common with 12-year-old Rachel. The seventh grader -- who is in Michigan’s foster care system -- is hoping to be adopted into a family one day soon. “I describe myself as nice and funny,” said Rachel. She’s an avid reader. The “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series is one of her favorites. Rachel is also an active Girl Scout who likes selling cookies and taking part in outdoor activities such as biking and swimming. She also enjoys coloring and being creative. “I like art. I’m really good at art. I draw. I draw the outside and imagine what my future would look like,” she explained. But she also enjoys the culinary arts. “I like to cook. I cook at home,” she said. She also enjoys McDonald’s – especially the chain’s chicken sandwiches.
