03/20/2024 Bloomberg Television: The U.S. is considering sanctions on a number of Chinese semiconductor firms linked to Huawei. It comes after Huawei unveiled a chip last year that was far more advanced than Washington thought possible. Bloomberg News reported last year that Huawei has either acquired a bunch of chip firms or built a bunch of chip-making facilities across China. The U.S. government is considering sanctions on some of these companies, plus middlemen that help Huawei obtain chip-making equipment that the United States restricts exports.
