I still maintain the Sub-52:00 Minute standard for the 25Km/15.55Mi 3rd Checkpoint to ensure I get the desired training effect. Then I just ride out the last 5Km with the knowledge that unless I maintain the same pace, the Lifefitness Bike timer only alloys you an additional 05:00 Minutes for a “Cooldown.” The screen shuts down at 65:00 whether I want it to or not.

This type of session is the midrange point between an easy, 25K day and a difficult, for record 30K in under an hour day. The purpose is to inure my legs to 30K sessions with higher frequency so that eventually the 25Ks become just another previous stepping stone to higher levels of work capacity.
